My husband, Tim, and I have always had a drive and passion for helping people, homes and community, To be honest, we have saturated our lives with these core fundamentals on every level. Starting out as young kids in our 20's, we were still finding our purpose and drive. Weren't really sure which direction to go. Like all walks in life, you just start to put one foot in front of the other. And that is where our story starts.
Tim was painting avionic parts for a family business, I was working a corporate job pushing paper for a company that financed ag and construction equipment. Other than being slack jawed by the cost of machinery, it wasn't all that impressive but it paid the bills. We had a little guy that was just a midge over a year old, so the bills had to be paid!
Over the next few years Tim started to do flooring installation with his uncle and I moved onto working for a mortgage company in the finance department. Tim seemed to find a good fit where he was. I too liked my job, but it was still pushing paper for "the man".
Well then the recession hit and it looked like we both had to find new jobs. He went back to his family's painting business, I found employment at an insurance company. Once again, I was pushing paper, well the paper was now all electronic, and in a queue. That is when we found out we were expecting.....and TWINS at that!
As you could imagine, I ended up being a stay at home mama for a long while. Tim stayed at his family's business for a bit longer. Then an opportunity presented itself for Tim to sell flooring goods. He loved that he would be able to gain more knowledge about the industry and decided to go for it. Anyone who knows my Tim, knows this was yet another, natural fit for him.....because Tim loves to chat it up with anyone. He has seriously never met a stranger in his life! This oddly enough lead him to a job servicing fire extinguishers. (Funny, I know). Yet another good fit, all because he got to talk to people. All the while I was still at home, doing side gigs like cleaning homes and selling products; trying to help out where I could. We also decided to have baby #4, I mean why not!
In 2011, the tides of change washed over our home. Tim took a blind leap of faith, with my full support, and went into business for himself installing flooring. Fortunately, after all the years of chatting, Tim had a pretty good list of contacts under his belt. And after all those years of pushing paper in various forms. I now knew how to push paper for his business.
So for the next 6 years we worked away at flooring installations answer also started throwing in a renovation here and there to spice things up at times. I ended up doing some work for a couple fo Tim's different interior designers. They put me to work decorating, staging and you guessed it, pushing paper!
We both found ourselves in peoples homes daily. Homes made us feel at home. People made us feel at home. We also found ourselves looking to add to our adventure, trying to find bigger ways to help people....REAL ESTATE!
The next chapter of our lives had just bloomed. What bigger honor could be had than helping someone find or sell their home.
